Sources say a Vietnamese owner has tied up the Imabari-built, 28,300-dwt Tenna Bulker (built 2005) for a firm $6.65m.
J Lauritzen chief financial officer Birgit Aagaard Svendsen says she cannot comment on the Tenna Bulker deal, as it is not completed.
In general, Lauritzen will seek to enter sales deals in any segment where it makes financial sense, she explains.
At TradeWinds press time, sources also claimed that Lauritzen Bulkers had sold the Hakodate-built, 31,000-dwt bulker Maren Bulker (built 2008).
