Sources tell TradeWinds that Navig8 has agreed to purchase the 45,300-dwt sisterships Nave Constellation and Nave Universe (both built 2013) from New York-listed Navios Maritime Acquisition Corp.
The price was not disclosed but VesselsValue estimates the tankers to be worth about $30m each.
Both ships have been trading in Navig8’s Chronos8 chemical-tanker pool, which, besides Navios and Navig8 Chemical, includes Laurin Maritime, Ocean Yield, Songa Shipping and Wilbur L Ross’ Transportation Recovery Fund.
