ONGC plans to hire 11 anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels with a minimum of 80-tons bollard pull (tbp) and seven platform supply vessels (PSVs) of 3,000-dwt capacities. The 18-ship tender is said to have lured newcomers and international players for contracts that may be awarded in the next week or so.
According to Mumbai-based sources closely linked to the tendering process, 14 foreign and domestic companies have now been revealed after ONGC last week opened what the sources describe as “all-important price bids”.
