Big data is becoming a vital component of many industries but has struggled to find traction in shipping.
National Shipping Co of Saudi Arabia (Bahri) is one of a handful of shipping majors that has been tackling big data with plans to bring online the Bahri Big Data Platform later this year.
It expects the platform will deliver real-time data-driven solutions to its managers, charterers, voyage planners and vessel superintendants, giving them actionable insight to enable data-driven decisions.
