Chinese government authorities are circulating for industry comment a consolidation proposal that aims to streamline the management and production of Beijing-based China Shipbuilding Industry Corp (CSIC) yards in northern China and make them more specialised.
The six main yards of Hu Wenming-led CSIC would be grouped into three pairs for purposes of marketing and management, with each yard maintaining some degree of operational independence but with final decision-making power in the hands of the bigbrother yard.
