The products tanker, which can be inspected in Mapaphut, Thailand, could probably fetch $5m to $6m. Bought as the Torm Gotland in July 2008 for $37.5m, its demolition value is $3m.
In April, another of Khunnathee’s 1990s-built tankers, the 44,000-dwt Sriracha Leader (built 1992), was said to have been sold “as is” in Thailand for demolition. A month earlier, the owner had sold the 90,000-dwt Sriracha Master (built 1991) for scrap.
