Sources say the Hyundai-built, 171,000-dwt SA Fortius (built 2001) has gone to a Chinese buyer for $7.25m. Sistership SA Altius (built 2001) was sold to CCCC International of China in May for $7.75m. The demolition price of the ships is probably $5.5m to $6m.
In November, the two capesizes were said to have been sold to Karadeniz of Turkey for $9m each.
