Various companies across the maritime industry are aiming to accelerate the transition from traditional marine fuels to LNG through a new organisation called SEA/LNG.

Fourteen founding members, including high-profile names such as Carnival Corp, Shell, NYK Line and TOTE, met in London this week to put pen to paper for the formation of the new body.

Peter Keller, chairman of SEA/LNG and executive vice-president of TOTE, said: “What will make SEA/LNG different from what the rest of the industry is trying to do is that it incorporates all the people in the value chain, so that we have all the drivers within the LNG structure.”
