Chief executive Lasse Kristoffersen confirms the company is seeking a buyer for the 82,000-dwt Bavang (built 2016). The ship is one of eight kamsarmaxes Klaveness ordered at Jiangsu New Yangzijiang in September 2013, reportedly for $26m to $27m each.
Kristoffersen admits it is not easy to dispose of conventional bulkers in today’s market but claims Klaveness has done well overall on this newbuilding project.
