Global law giant Reed Smith is the latest international law firm to take advantage of Singapore’s alliance partnership provisions, which allow foreign law firms entry into the country’s courts.
This week saw the official launch of Reed Smith Resource Law Alliance, a partnership between Reed Smith and “local” law firm Resource Law. Such tie-ups have become increasingly common since being given the go-ahead several years ago, and Reed Smith’s intention to do so became apparent in October last year when the firm poached a number of senior lawyers from rival Ince & Co’s local partnership Incisive Law.
