One month ago, it was almost all doom and gloom among the mostly remain-supporting UK shipping industry after the British people voted to leave the European Union (EU).

Brexit, as British exit has been termed, certainly took the London-based maritime community by surprise. But if no one was prepared for the leave result, and it unleashed a remarkable period of political upheaval, the feeling is growing that not only can shipping businesses make the best of it, but maybe it provides positive opportunities.

Taking
