Greek bulker owner Blue Planet Shipping is close to scooping a quartet of kamsarmax newbuildings from China’s Jiangsu New Yangzijiang Shipbuilding in a deal worth close to $80m.
Blue Planet managing director Stefanos Mavrelis confirms brokers’ reports, which cited the company as the prospective buyer of the ships but clarifies that the deal is not yet completed. “We’re in the final stage of negotiations,” he said.
