Taylor was established in December 2013 by Ed Buttery, son of shipping investor and former partner and founder of Pacific Basin, Chris Buttery. During 2014 and 2015, Taylor accumulated a fleet of six “quality handysizes”, say brokers who know the company. The ships were built in Japan between 1998 and 2008.
In May, Taylor bought the Hakodate-built, 32,000-dwt Orient Dream (built 2008) for $7m.
