Within hours on 21 July, two developments were published regarding New York bank Evercore and its shipping practice.
Firstly, TradeWinds revealed that Evercore investment bankers have been hired by Greek bulker owner Diana Shipping to handle its restructuring talks.
Then veteran Evercore shipping analyst Jonathan Chappell released a bearish report on dry bulk stocks in which he reiterated a “sell” recommendation on Diana and lowered its earnings estimates for this year and next.
