Korea Line Corp (KLC) looks to be expanding into unchartered waters as it boosts its fleet of bulkers and LNG carriers with the purchase of two medium-range (MR) tanker newbuildings.
Sources say the 50,000-dwt vessels are due for delivery from Samsung Heavy Industries’ subsidiary shipyard in China — Samsung Ningbo Shipyard — in April and June next year.
Both Maersk Tankers and Capital Maritime have newbuildings that fit the bill.
