Russian shipowner SCF Group (Sovcomflot)’s specialised shuttle tanker newbuilding is steaming through the Northern Sea Route (NSR) en route to its future base as a new year-round Arctic crude oil trade gears up this month.
SCF said the 42,000-dwt, Arc7 ice-class Shturman Albanov, that was delivered from Samsung Heavy Industries on 16 August, is heading to the Vorota Arktiki or Arctic Gate offshore terminal at the mouth of Russia’s Ob River.
