VLCC pool player Tankers International (TI) has moved its corporate structure onshore to the UK in an effort to comply with the increasingly stringent demands of its charterers and give the outfit access to new forms of credit.
TI chief executive Jonathan Lee confirmed the move to TradeWinds, explaining that a new UK-domiciled structure Tankers International Ltd has been set up and is now acting as the disponent owner, time-chartering in the pool participants’ VLCCs.
