A successful career in shipping is open to men and women if you say yes to opportunities when they come along, Golden Ocean chief executive Birgitte Vartdal told Nor-Shipping today.
Vartdal, who collected the Women's International Shipping & Trading Association (Wista) achievement award in Oslo, said that throughout her life she had tried not to focus on gender.
"For me that's what gender equality is about," she said.
