New York-listed Scorpio has offloaded the 113,000-dwt STI Spirit (built 2008) in a $30.2m deal, a statement said.
While Scorpio does not reveal who has purchased the vessel, TradeWinds reported last week Greek owner NG Moundreas had snapped it up.
Scorpio bought the tanker in 2010 for a reported $52.2m.
Late in 2013, Scorpio announced plans to sell its seven non-eco tankers to make way for a vast number of newbuildings.
