German utility Uniper has said ExxonMobil has signed a preliminary deal to take a big share of regasification capacity from an FSRU project planned for Wilhelmshaven.

“The heads of agreement is an important step towards the realisation of the Wilhelmshaven floating storage and regasification project,” said Keith Martin, Uniper’s CCO, according to Reuters.

Uniper is working with Japan's MOL on the project, which has a planned send-out capacity of 10bn cbm per annum and an LNG storage capacity of 263,000 cbm.
