Choosing a short list from the hundreds of entries submitted for TradeWinds’ Maritime Photographer of the Year contest has again proved an immensely difficult task.
Many superb photos were entered so we have been forced to be quite ruthless to make a short list of just a dozen images.
We have tried to pick a range of very different images to give readers a wide choice as they decide who will be the winner of a Nikon D90 digital SLR and the TradeWinds Maritime Photographer of the Year trophy.
There have been entries from shipowners, masters and crewmen, shipmanagers, brokers, surveyors, pilots, charterers, lawyers and consultants with the quality of photos well up to the impressive standard set in our previous contests.
