AP Moller-Maersk has announced the outcome of its much anticipated strategic review that will see the split of its businesses into two different entities.

The Danish conglomerate will have two divisions: Transport & Logistics and Energy.

Its oil business under the Energy division will be separated either individually or in combination from the group in the form of joint ventures, mergers or listings.

The company said its objective is to find effective solutions for the oil business within 24 months.

Michael Pram Rasmussen, chairman of the board AP Moller-Maersk, said: "Separating our transport and logistics businesses and our oil and oil related businesses into two independent divisions will enable both to focus on their respective markets."
