New York-based Foremost Group has switched from its favoured Chinese yards to Japan for a capesize bulk carrier newbuilding.

The James Chao-controlled shipping company has contracted Namura Shipbuilding to build two 185,000-dwt capesizes for delivery in 2024.

Shipbuilding sources said Foremost has ordered the eco-friendly bulk carriers against a seven-year charter contract with Japanese shipping giant NYK Line.
