A steady trickle of Greek capesize purchases is building in the secondhand market, with two names being linked to the acquisitions of Japanese-built tonnage.

Several market sources identified Alberta Shipmanagement as the buyer of the 176,900-dwt Lowlands Erica (built 2007).

The Athens-based company is said to be spending about $15m on the vessel, which was built at Namura Shipbuilding and has been hitherto controlled by Japanese interests.
