Chellaram Shipping is the latest shipping company to have turned to New Dayang Shipbuilding for bulk carrier newbuildings.
The Hong Kong-based shipping company has ordered two 64,000-dwt newbuildings at the Chinese shipyard that specialises in building ultramax bulk carriers.
A shipping source familiar with Chellaram confirmed the bulkers order, adding that the newbuildings formed part of the company’s fleet rejuvenation and expansion programme.
The deal at New Dayang was the second newbuilding contract that Chellaram inked this year.
