Low-key dry bulk specialist P&P Shipping has returned to the sale-and-purchase market to buy a Chinese-built supramax.

The Piraeus-based company last bought ships as part of a fleet renewal in 2016. Its managers said at the time they would not consider any further expansion moves before digesting the two acquisitions they made that year.

Almost three years on, with the dry bulk market looking in better shape, sources at P&P Shipping confirmed that it had dipped into the S&P market to buy the 56,900-dwt supramax Suse (built 2011), which joined its fleet last week under its new name of Captain John.
