Demand for small-scale LNG (SSLNG) carriers is on the increase for projects, trading and bunkering business but the supply of vessels is dwindling.

Affinity (Shipping) partner Petter Arentz and LNG small-scale broker Jonathan Gaylor, who focus on this sector under the broker’s energy infrastructure arm, said the number of ships available can be counted on one hand and most of those are under discussion for business.

The Affinity team, which includes Charlotte Vandeville, has published its first monthly report covering the small-scale and LNG bunkering markets, focusing on the fleet development and market status for vessels in the 1,500-cbm to 50,000-cbm range.
