Nigeria has accused its neighbours of undermining its efforts to crack down on rising criminal activity by playing a blame game over the issue of piracy.
The head of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency Bashir Jamoh told domestic media outlets last week that other Gulf of Guinea littoral states were jealous of Nigeria getting the credit for fighting piracy in the region and blamed Nigeria for the problem even if incidents happened elsewhere.
