Euroseas has decided to keep buying feeder containership newbuildings, given their relative cost to secondhand vessels of the same size.

The Aristides Pittas-led boxship owner of 10 feeders and six intermediates ordered three 1,800-teu eco-design feeders from Korea’s Hyundai Mipo Dockyard.

Euroseas expects to take delivery of these ships within the first half of 2024.

One 5-year-old 1,750-teu feeder was worth $36m in 2021, according to Clarksons.
