The Grimaldi Group has reported its best-ever financial result.
Profits for Italy’s biggest shipping company were close to $1bn in 2021, boosted by its container shipping division.
The Naples-based company singled out the “exceptional” performance of its transatlantic container/ro-ro operation Atlantic Container Line.
Grimaldi’s deepsea services to West Africa and South America also performed well.
Profit before deductions, measured on an Ebitda basis, came in at €947m ($988m), according to the company’s quarterly newsletter.
