AP Moller-Maersk expects green fuels will lead to a double-digit percentage increase in container freight rates.

But the liner giant will look at scaling up the use of green e-methanol as well as alternative fuels such as ammonia, said head of decarbonisation Morten Bo Christiansen.

He told a webinar today that without any subsidy, synthetic fuels and biofuels will probably be twice as expensive as oil.
