The labour union representing HMM crew has agreed to put off a mass resignation planned for today to resume negotiations over its wage increase demands.

That means the crew members' threat to step down in mass now focuses on 1 September.

A spokesman at HMM confirmed that negotiations for the wage hike are continuing while the union and company management remain open to talks.

Around 92% of HMM's 424 unionised seafarers voted to demand a 25% wage increase for this year.
