A Royal Caribbean Group executive focused on the company's interests in Europe and Asia will soon look after the Cruise Lines International Association's (CLIA) affairs in Europe.

Ukko Metsola, Royal Caribbean's vice president for government relations in Europe and Asia-Pacific since 2016, has been appointed CLIA's director-general in Europe.

He will start his new role on 1 September to replace Tom Boardley, CLIA's outgoing secretary-general for Europe.
