A little-known Swedish operator cooperating with Greece’s Franco Compania Naviera has emerged as the buyer of four Great Lakes-capable handysize bulkers previously with Parakou Shipping.

Shipping directories list Olof Brodin Chartering and other similarly named entities — all based in Sollentuna, Sweden — as the buyer of the Tianjin Xingang-built ships.

The first two vessels — the 37,300-dwt Garganey and sistership Gadwall (both built 2007) — left the Parakou fleet in early 2017, reportedly for $6m each, and have been renamed Helena G and Maria G.
