Finland's ESL Shipping has been incurring significant loss of income from two new LNG-fuelled bulkers due to "serious technical problems" with their cranes.

The 25,600-dwt Viiki and 23,650-dwt Haaga were delivered last year from Jinling Shipyard in China.

"However, extensive and serious problems in the conventional mechanics of high-power cranes, which are subject to warranty, have significantly interfered with the efficient operations of both vessels," it said.
