Diamond S Shipping used a strong second quarter to reduce debt but fell short of Wall Street expectations on earnings and net revenues.

The Craig Stevenson-led tanker owner made $45.7m in the quarter, or $1.15 per share, but consensus analyst expectations of $1.28 per share and investment bank Jefferies' estimate of $1.21.

Jefferies analyst Randy Giveans said the result was caused by lower-than-expected net revenue at $134.2m,
