Japanese shipowner MOL, together with French technical shipmanager Gazocean, is poised to snatch a time charter contract to support a second large LNG bunker vessel (LNGBV) for Total.

Industry sources close to the discussions said MOL and Gazocean have been selected as the preferred provider by the French energy major’s bunkering arm, Total Marine Fuels Global Solutions. They were chosen over the other shortlisted candidate, Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM), to provide an 18,600-cbm LNGBV.
