Norway’s Statoil has gone out to tender for quotes on building a small-scale LNG carrier that would also be capable of conducting bunkering operations.
Details remain scarce on the business but shipyards are understood to be working on offers.
Few in the LNG sector appear to be aware of Statoil’s exact intentions for the LNG ship. But a number say it has been looking at plans for this type of vessel for some time.
