Security personnel on vessels in the Gulf of Guinea are no quick fix to the piracy problem, an analyst has warned.

Greek manager Contships issued a plea to West African governments to allow private armed guards on vessels after a violent attack on the 1,100-teu Contship New (built 2007) on 23 April.
