The International Transport Intermediaries Club (ITIC) has revealed how a manager's negligence over repairs to a bulker cost it $120,000.
It said the claim by the owner of an unnamed vessel arose after the master had notified the technical manager of a problem with the winch used for the mooring rope which, although still operational, needed its worn pinion gear replaced.
