An employee of Middle East shipbuilder Privinvest has been cleared in a $2bn US fraud case.
A jury acquitted lead salesman Jean Boustani, 41, following a federal court trial in Brooklyn, Reuters reported.
He was cleared of helping to defraud US investors in bonds backed by the Mozambican government.
“Jean never met, spoke to, had a relationship, or lied to any investor,” Randall Jackson, one of Boustani’s lawyers, said in a statement after the verdict.
