Star Reefers' 480,000-cbf Nelson Star (built 1993) has been involved in a second pollution incident.
During the evening of 25 November, a deck pipe leaked 7,800 litres of heavy fuel onto the deck.
A portion of this oil ran over the ship’s side into the waters of the Elbe Estuary.
The leak was quickly repaired and when the ship berthed the next day at Cuxhaven for cleaning, no trace of further pollution was discovered.
