The naval yard may build the dock to boost its market share in the South Pacific region, infodefensa.com reported.
Bosses said the company wants to raise $200m in a private-public partnership.
SIMA, based in Calloa, is owned by Peru and operated by the navy.
It can currently handle ships of up to 48,000 dwt.
