Japan's Kinkai Yusen Kaisha (KYK) has ordered two ro-ro vessels at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI).
The company said the ships will be delivered in March 2018, according to the Asiasis website.
The 11,500-gt ro-ro units will be 180 metres long and carry up to 100 cars. No price was revealed.
KYK is a subsidiary of the huge NYK group.
