The UK has extended P&O Maritime Service’s management contract for a research ship by another two years.
The Centre for Environment, Fisheries & Aquaculture Science (Cefas) said the deal will stretch to March, 2019, a total of 10 years.
The 3,000–gt Cefas Endeavour (built 2003) allows Cefas to carry out monitoring, data collection and fisheries stock assessment.
The ship, which is owned by Cefas, has returned from a three-week survey in the North Sea, successfully completing its second charter for the Dutch government.
