Antoniou and Arntzen’s next roles move them back into shipfinance for Dutch and Australian entries

The mystery of Harris Antoniou’s return to a shipfinance role is over — but the answer may raise more questions about a potential new source of capital.

Antoniou’s latest role will be as chief executive of Amsterdam Trade Bank (ATB), which although based in the Netherlands, is a branch of Russia’s Alfa Bank Group.

ATB is not a household name among ship lenders but Antoniou’s is given with his more than 20 years’ experience with other Dutch brands such as ABN AMRO, MeesPierson and Fortis.
