French liner company CMA CGM has set its sights on more than $4bn in profits in the first half of the year.

The Marseilles-based liner operator logged a net income of $2bn in the first quarter of the year and expects “at least” the same result in the second quarter.

Sustained demand for the shipping of consumer goods since the summer of 2020 will continue in the second half of 2021, the company said.
