Danish Ship Finance (DSF) believes the transitioning of shipping to net-zero could lead to "substantial" reductions in demand for vessels.
And the shipping lender also argues that fuel efficiency will be key for shipowners, as viable future fuels remain a long way off mass production.
"The industry may look radically different by the time the global economy has decarbonised," DSF said in its half-yearly shipping round-up.
