Haiphong-based HTK Shipping has acquired a second ultramax bulker as it seeks to expand its presence in the sector.

Tran Duy Quynh, HTK's chartering and trading manager, told TradeWinds on Tuesday that the company had purchased the 61,500-dwt Ikan Senyur (built 2010), a vessel which is owned by Japanese tonnage provider Ehime Kisen.

The ship, which has spent its entire career on charter to Pacific Carriers of Singapore, will be handed over in either February or March, Quynh said.
