The shipping industry is vulnerable to a crackdown by British and European Union regulators against traders who bust sanctions designed to punish Russia for its invasion of Ukraine, lawyers have told TradeWinds.
Armed with new powers and finance, Britain’s sanctions watchdog is expected to step up its enforcement efforts over the next 12 to 18 months, according to London-based shipping law specialist HFW.
